Baxter Presbyterian Church
This simple styled Presbyterian Church lies in the valley about 9 miles east of Marlinton. It is an easy visual representation of the people who first occupied this territory and built the church in 1838. They were fiercely independent, simple folk from Scotland who had no use for the established religion, but rather preferred the no-nonsence approach to life and religion. Little has changed since then.
